Expedition and travel

One wise proverb says: “If you want to make God laugh, share with him your plans.”
I had plenty but I will only mention the most recent ones and some travel ones.
When my sidekick Teki who travelled with me to Peru and Thailand departed, I embarked on a journey through the whole of Scandinavia, reaching until the northernmost point of Europe. While cleaning my head and absorbing the right energy to write a book, I made plans to live in New Zealand, Island, Australia or other locations, which would be difficult to pursue in terms of mandatory dog quarantine requirements. For that reason I intended not to have another dog for a while (or dogs!). So now I have four of them. 😉
Given the newly developed situation, I started to plan for different routes, preferably by car, as air travel with four furry friends would be too complicated (bureaucratically as well given the animal transport regulations). I even thought of a way to travel around the world with them on the boat. First, I wanted to start in Mongolia and spend a couple of months with local shepherds, subsequently getting on a road trip to Thailand, to show Teki’s successors our former home. After all, part of the story which is still earning them food today, took place there.☺ I also wanted to include Bhutan and many other great ideas. Finally, to start with, we decided to begin “only with” Europe, (everything located north, east, and south from Czech Republic) as a contrast to the previous ‘many months in one country’ model, with a title: 1 Lunatic, 4 Fur Balls, 30 Countries and 60 Days.
However there was an intervention in form of serious illness, followed by a difficult surgery of my siberian dog friend, we therefore only ventured on much shorter and less strenuous journey to the south and it’s cactuses ☺
It was a good way to test the vehicle and its occupants, and to continue making plans during long driving hours – which went on, of course – even after we returned back home, where I started to give my thoughts some real shape, locations and dates…
My new plans included also the presence of another human, a photographer / cameraman, so even the travelling part of the journey could be included into my livelihood.

Well, and then corona…
No problem. Obstacles are made to be overcome and so during lockdown break in summer, me and my pack decided to drive into the wilderness of the polar circle. ☺
After all, there is always a way, and it’s up to us only how we choose to rein…
We will see what is to come. It all depends on the corona situation now, however even Lapland on it’s own offers countless beautiful locations, places, activities and other possibilities…
